This conference will present innovative clinical practice and mental health research as it impacts policy and service delivery for multicultural populations. The morning will focus our macro and clinical lenses on multicultural youth pressed between their families and the larger society, while the afternoon session will look at racial and ethnic inequalities of the behavioral health system from policy and practice perspectives.

Implications for Changing Policy and Intervention Development
- Identify a cultural group’s strengths/expectations and how this is impacted by the dominant culture.
- Understand the acculturation process for refugee and immigrant youth and the challenges they face in school and in cultural and generational struggles at home.
- Identify the challenges in social work practice in working with non-dominant cultures.
