KEYNOTE SPEAKER:
Marylou Sudders, MSW

Private Practice Clinicians in all Mental and Behavioral Health disciplines (social workers, counselors, nurses, psychologists, and others) are struggling on their own to keep up with the myriad of changes happening due to Health Care Reform. This Conference will help clinicians understand the changes that are happening, learn about strategies already being used, and what the future is bringing to our offices and organizations. Using lecture, panel discussion, content presentations, and dedicated Q&A periods, experts and practitioners in this burgeoning area will share their expertise and experiences. They will answer many of your burning questions and encourage you to continue looking for new ways to expand and enhance your clinical practice options.

Participants will learn...

  • What the Commonwealth of Massachusetts is doing to promote and encourage the integration of mental and behavioral health with medical health.

  • Various models of integration, including co-location, individual and group contractual arrangements, how to pursue these models as practice options, and how to connect with co-located and contracted clinicians to increase their referral base.

  • About Electronic Health Records, what they are, how they work, how they will be used as a tool to integrate medical and mental/behavioral health care, what future requirements will be for clinicians, and the importance and methods for maintaining privacy of patient/client records.
