Presenter: Patricia Thatcher, LICSW
Current research indicates that adverse stressful events experienced during childhood lead to significant problems in adulthood including anxiety, depression, dissociation, and a lack of resilience to successfully manage stress. Children who experience these adverse events also have difficulty developing positive beliefs about Self that would help them be more resilient and engage in their life in satisfactory ways. It is also documented that what the mind thinks, visualizes and tells itself the body responds to as real. By focusing the mind on specific topics, the brain can develop new neural networks/pathways that create new maps for attitude and behavioral changes.
Participants will learn...
-
Problematic stressful experiences that interfere with normal childhood development.
-
Positive qualities of self that develop during normal childhood development fostering resilience.
-
And experience mind/body modalities that enable them to connect to and strengthen positive qualities of self.
