Discussion led by Kenneth Ayers, CAGS, LCSW

Board of Directors at The Bridge of Central Mass and Safe Homes

This is a true story of London's National Union of Mineworkers who strike in 1984 prompting a London based group of gay and lesbian activists to raise money to support the strikers' families. Initially rebuffed by the Union, the group travels to Wales to deliver their donations and the two groups discover that standing together makes the strongest union of all.

Please join us and receive three (3) CEs *** Remember ... October is License Renewal!

Participants will learn:

  • Social differences between 1984 and 2016 especially with respect to LGBTQ rights
  • The difficulties living as a member of a marginalized population, those we see as different actually share similarities with us
  • Status of bisexual and transgender rights and inclusion
