About the Program:

Men’s difficulties continue to trouble American society across the diverse range of masculinities, ethnicities and at all socioeconomic levels. This workshop will incorporate concepts from gender socialization, attachment, and male development and offer effective treatment methods that are responsive to men’s concerns and psychological experiences. The workshop will use video clips, clinical vignettes and didactic material to illustrate the principles of treatment in working with men. Providing treatment that takes into consideration the specific needs of men can improve men’s willingness to access treatment.

Learning Objectives: Participants will learn...

  • How male socialization impacts on the use of psychotherapy.
  • At least 3 principles of effective treatment with men.
  • How their own experience impacts on the therapeutic alliance in treating men.

Members $60 / Non-Members $90 / SWTRS Members $40
