A PANEL OF EXPERTS will discuss NASW’s Bill, An Act to Enhance Consumer Protection and Transparency Under the Social Work Licensing Law, which seeks to revise the licensing law to provide assurance to consumers that licensed social workers are, in fact, educated and trained as professional social workers, and to strengthen the work force in agencies such as child welfare, youth services and elder services.

At least 7 states already require a BSW or MSW to become a publicly‐employed social worker; the social work positions in these states have lower average vacancy rates, lower rates of turnover, and higher salaries (by $2,500).

You will have the opportunity to make comments and ask questions on this important piece of legislation.

NASW-MA NEEDS YOUR SUPPORT AND POLITICAL ACTION prior to the November 10th legislative hearing.

Get the facts and make sure your voice is heard and participate in the chapter’s first live video/audio town meeting. For more information, visit: www.naswma.org/legislativeagenda
