As part of a National Initiative to Reinvest in the Social Work Profession, each of the 55 NASW Chapter's around the country and the world has prepared a plan to focus on reinvesting in the profession to assure a strong, effective work force for the coming years.
The MA Chapter appointed a SWR Task Force to implement the SWR plan in the Commonwealth. The task force has been working since 2008 to develop an educational and promotional package to bring to high school and college students to increase interest in the profession. Efforts are directed at averting a potential crisis in the profession as the retirement rate of social workers begins to outpace the rate of new social workers entering the work force.
In 2010, a video was created entitled The Many Faces of Social Work: This Could Be You, which presents young social workers in action, and premiered at Symposium 2010. The video is being presented to high school and college students along with facilitated discussion.

Can we live up to the legacy?
