The Glass Castle is a biography depicting the life experience of growing up in a nonconformist family, challenged by alcoholism, poverty, neglect, and abuse. The story also depicts inspiration and unconditional love. Participants will view the film. Our discussant will present relevant material and lead a discussion which relates to the course objectives.

The Glass Castle is a biography depicting the life experience of growing up in a nonconformist family, challenged by alcoholism, poverty, neglect, and abuse. The story also depicts inspiration and unconditional love. Participants will view the film. Our discussant will present relevant material and lead a discussion which relates to the course objectives.

 

Course Objectives: List three (3) learning objectives:

  1. Participants will discuss how alcohol dependence affects family members by assessing the roles taken on by adult children of alcoholics.
  2. Participants will discuss examples of resiliency and forgiveness experienced by family members.
  3. Participants will provide analysis of and discuss the relevance of major symbolism presented in the film. 

 

This program is approved for 3 CEUs

This program is $35 for members / $50 for non-members
