This session invites attendees to pause and give appraisal to their ways of being; that is, how are you taking care of you? The global pandemic, persisting social action for racial justice, and impending presidential election have created a social climate like none before. Particularly for BIPOC social workers, the compounded, intersectional influences of psychological, emotional and physical stressors of lived experiences and professional practice have reached a tipping point. This session offers a space for validation and affirmation, and creation of a plan for balance and well-being, which is all intended to support and maintain professional social work practice. With speaker Wendy Champagnie Williams, PhD, LICSW.
