Webinar description: In this webinar, attendees will learn about the basics of ethics that impact their clinical practice, such as boundaries, clinical documentation and conflicts of interest. Strategies to reduce practitioner risk and liability will be explored. This webinar is geared towards newly licensed and practicing Social Workers & therapists. Attendees will increase their knowledge relating to ethical issues in clinical social work practice. Attendees will learn three new strategies to reduce risk and liability as practitioners. Attendees will learn two new resources for ethics management.

About the speaker: Melissa Santoro is a licensed independent clinical social worker in RI who has specialized in providing sexual abuse specific treatment, training and clinical supervision since May 2004. She has held many leadership positions for a non-profit agency, focusing on outpatient services for children, teens and adults impacted by trauma. She sits as the Chair of the Continuity of Care Group (CCG), a group of dedicated professionals whose mission is to provide education, advocacy, and interdisciplinary collaboration to promote safety, stability, and well-being for youth and families impacted by sexual abuse while utilizing best practices in treatment and support services. Mrs. Santoro has shared her expertise and knowledge through professional training, mentoring and consultation with service providers, stakeholders and higher education institutions statewide. She is the co-founder of Pathway to Resilience; Experts in Trauma Treatment Consultation & Training, engaging in high quality training and consultation, specific to topics regarding trauma informed and best practices, helping to reduce risk and liability associated with providing mental health services.
