Registrations will reopen the week of February 3rd. On Monday, March 31st, NASW-MA will be hosting our annual Legislative Education and Advocacy Day (LEAD) in-person at the State House. LEAD offers aspiring and seasoned social workers a unique opportunity to take a direct approach to advocacy by using hands-on tactics to uplift issues that are impacting their communities. By the end of the event, we expect attendees to understand the importance of lobbying their legislators, have an awareness of NASW-MA’s current legislative priorities, and demonstrate the collective impact of macro social work education and practice. Directly following the event, attendees are encouraged to lobby their legislators. To schedule a meeting with legislators, folks should begin by finding their state senator and representatives by clicking here and reaching out to the appropriate offices. If folks have any questions or need assistance, they are encouraged to reach out to Brianna Silva at bsilva.naswma@socialworkers.org, Dakota Armstrong at intern1.naswma@socialworkers.org, or Audrey Leopold at intern2.naswma@socialworkers.org
The cost of attendance for this event is $15.00 per person. If your school is covering the cost of your registration, please input the appropriate code made for your school to apply the discount on the payment page. Be sure to click "Apply" so the fee is corrected.
