Treating clients with eating disorders requires expertise in the relevant social and emotional issues commonly seen, knowledge of the roles of the treatment team (i.e. Dietitian, Primary Care Physician, Psychiatrist, etc.) and knowing the medical complications which result from eating disorders.

Participants will learn:

  1. To assess for, and identify clients with eating disorders.
  2. Most effective types of evidence based treatment modalities.
  3. How to work collaboratively with a treatment team.
  4. Medical complications resulting from eating disorders.

Karen Chinca is in private practice specializing in eating disorders, and is a member of MEDA (the Multi-Service Eating Disorder Association).

Marci Anderson Evans is in private practice, specializing in the treatment of eating disorders, weight concerns, and body image issues, and is a certified eating disorder dietitian through IAEDP, and a certified Intuitive Eating counselor.

Approved for 6 CEs for Social Workers. LMHCs applied for.
