On the Anniversary of Roe v. Wade, Take Action to Support the ROE Act

On this day 47 years ago, the U.S. Supreme Court issued its landmark decision in Roe v. Wade and made abortion legal across the country. That decision laid the foundation for safe, legal abortion in every state – and today, we celebrate what the ability to make our own personal medical decision means: the freedom, empowerment, and opportunity to live a life of our own making.
Almost half a century later, Roe v. Wade is still the law of the land – but in the current national environment of politically motivated attacks, we’re fighting here in Massachusetts to improve and expand access to abortion care.
While the right to abortion is guaranteed by our constitution, that right doesn’t translate into equitable access for everyone. Right after the Roe decision, anti-abortion lawmakers in Massachusetts passed harmful laws intended to restrict access to abortion – and these laws are still in effect today. That’s why we’re working to pass the ROE Act, a bill that will improve access to abortion in our state by dismantling unjust barriers to care.
We need your help to ensure that abortion not only remains safe and legal, but also becomes fully accessible to all people who seek it. Will you fight for the future of abortion access by contacting your state legislators to ask them to pass the ROE Act today?
We can pass the ROE Act this year and make our state a fairer, more equitable place for all. Join us by asking your lawmakers to pass the ROE Act today.
