Lift Kids Out of Deep Poverty

And Donate Shoes & Socks

All across the state, families depend on benefits accessed through the Transitional Aid to Families with Dependent Children (TAFDC) program. For families living in deep poverty, these benefits are not enough to meet their most basic needs. The Massachusetts legislature is now considering An Act to Lift Kids Out of Deep Poverty (S.36/H.102). This legislation would gradually increase TAFDC benefits to lift children out of deep poverty and help them access the resources they need.
Join us Tuesday, February 4, 2020, in Room 428 of the Massachusetts State House from 1:30 - 2:30 pm as we advocate to lift kids out of deep poverty! See the event flyer here.
We aim to fill the room with both supporters and children's socks and shoes because the current grants, which are below deep poverty, aren’t enough for basic needs like shoes and socks. Want to donate shoes and socks that will be distributed to families who need them following the event? Donate through our Amazon Wishlist here. Please ship to arrive by 1/31/20.
Can't attend the event but want to send a message to your state legislators in support of lifting kids out of deep poverty? Use our pre-drafted email template here.
