Webinar description:

In this webinar, attendees will learn about the core components of Trauma Informed Approaches along with several interventions for clients of all ages. We will explore the building blocks and foundational requirements for providing trauma informed treatment. This webinar is geared towards newly licensed and practicing Social Workers & therapists.

  • Attendees will increase their knowledge relating to Trauma Informed Approaches.

  • Attendees will learn three new interventions to utilize in therapy sessions.

  • Attendees will learn two new resources for enhancing trauma specific treatment.

About the speaker: Melissa Santoro, LICSW (she/her) specializes in providing sexual abuse specific treatment, training and clinical supervision. She has held many leadership positions for a non-profit agency, focusing on outpatient services for children, teens and adults impacted by sexual abuse and other related traumas. Mrs. Santoro has shared her expertise and knowledge through professional training, mentoring and consultation with service providers, stakeholders and higher education institutions statewide. Mrs. Santoro’s early work includes supporting families formed through adoption, providing education and support to caregivers and professionals, and working with youth without permanent homes as a part of an independent living program. She has facilitated a number of local and national trainings for parents and professionals regarding sexual abuse specific topics and other child welfare issues. Mrs. Santoro has co-authored publications, specific to supporting families impacted by sexual abuse, and has engaged in media interviews focusing on child mental health and trauma. She is currently the Clinical Director of Adoption Rhode Island, as well as the co-founder of Pathway to Resilience, a consultation and training service for professionals.
